They are Not my Cats story.
About 10 years ago I was adopted by my partner and her not to supportive cat (Kiwi) of 10 years.
Shortly thereafter we met, another cat adopted my partner from a shelter. (Mango) or Scarf and Barf that had some issues from being a scavenger cat.
I complained about the increased nasal veracity of the litter box. The solution was an 8 x 12 outdoor cat house with a personal door I had to build. But they are not my cats though at least the litter box was then outside. All was kinda well for a couple of years with except for the daily hairballs and scarf and barfs. I noticed that these two not my cats were getting pretty heavy, the kind of heavy the belly drags the floor and mentioned this to my partner that perhaps she was feeding them a bit much. That maybe we limit their food intake. I suggested that they only be fed twice a day like I did my dog. Somehow this turned into me feeding not my cats. She says I volunteered. Then a family member died and she had promised to take care of the deceased’s cat, his given name was Ruger like the gun, my name for him is Freddy Kruger as his claws much resemble Freddy’s. He loves the outdoor Cat House, the problem was that Kiwi did not like sharing the outdoor litter box with a male cat, so after using the kitchen floor for her nature calls we now have an standard outdoor and personally made indoor custom made litter box. Even though they are not my cats. Last year my youngest son moved into a camper in our back yard to try to go to school, he brought his cat (Steve). He howled for weeks keeping my son awake until finally letting him outside of the camper. He never went back in that camper again and now he makes his home my workshop where he has a litter box and feed. But Steve is not my cat!
So now there are four not my cats under my care and when C19 came I commented that we were spending like $30 a week on cat litter, and questioned if maybe there was an alternative, like sawdust or something, well it seems they don’t mind wood chips so I now take my chainsaw to some old cedar logs about every two weeks and make a great smelling cat litter for not my cats. I like to cut the logs vertically makes more decorative chips to clean off of the floor. I have rebelled lately to refusing to clean up the hairballs and scarf and barf from the floor since my partner can no longer work being allergic to masks. So that’s the short story of not my cats!

Greetings:

I always have had compliments that no one can smell the cats!! In my case it is a matter of cleaning up the litter boxes all the time (indoors). My nose is very fine tuned in smelling odors. And I do not like plastic fragrances either. So, I have to run a clean ship here, which I do.

My life really revolves around the cats, their well being. I do it all, including cutting their nails (a lot).
