In reply to walkin56. The droplets breakup into a fine mist that continues to carry the viral particles through the fibers. (like water going through a sieve.) Now, instead of having larger/heavier droplets that rapidly fall to the ground due to it's weight; you have a fine mist of viral particles that will remain suspended in the air for a much longer time. (seconds vs, minutes/hours.) As usual, their "solutions' always makes things worse.

Were we not told that the virus is transported on doplets of water rather than floating around in the air as an individual virus particulate? If that is true then the geometry model in the example shown needs to be recalculated to accommodate the size of the water droplet. This would seem to dramatically change the conclusions presented on the effectiveness of face masks, showing the face masks to be more effective than suggested.
