It looks like the coronavirus produced by Dr. Martin was “live, attenuated”. The attenuated means it cannot produce infection in a human if introduced into them. This is like the influenza immunization. It does not give you the flu. If true, the reference (patent document) says the design was intended to be able to produce a vector to treat/prevent bronchitis in humans. Again, if true, this is an admirable undertaking.

The real question is: was there actual malicious intent here, or, did one of the coronaviruses that were being altered “escape” accidently from the NIH labs and have the capability to produce disease in humans? Also , did the Chinese accidently do the same thing. It argues that the Chinese did not do this deliberately, as all the communist party members were at risk, since there is no cure.

If done transparently, the “source” of this novel coronavirus afflicting us can be determined.
