Sorry for the late response, but its important. No, it wasn’t the automobile industry. It was Big OIL-Standard Oil-Chervon, etc. Through Stanford Research Institute, they destroyed electric light rail or alternative means of travel. As for the freeway system, it leads to big money investments and seats of power. All roads, freeways and BART leads to Emeraid City, San Francisco where Leland Stanford and the Robber Barons setup shop. Thay’s my opinion.

Associating BART with a Nazi Illuminati. The freeway would system would be more Nazi fascist like than BART. The freeway system was an idea of Nazi Germany, with freeways, it is access to fast rapid transportation, but a person has to own a car for access. To counter the inequality: Light Rail, BART, and affordable housing was more of a utopian ideas of the Stalinist regime, which influenced many in the Chicago School of Urban Planning. Unfortunately the automobile industry blocked the idea of building a full fledged BART or Light Rail system in the Bay Area. Instead Cal Trans has given Freeways the green light, and shafting public transportation.
